Valentine's Day Hair and Makeup Details

I had a great Valentine's Day celebrating with my husband. I made sure my wash day lined up with my favorite holiday, so I had a chance my hair would look decent. I also got excited to bring lots of pink into my makeup for the day. Read on for details.




WASH DAY
Here is what I used:
-Pre-Poo: Olaplex No 3
-Cleanse: Tweak-d By Nature Yogi Berry Restore Cleansing Treatment, Restore Shampoo
-Condition: La Formule Artisan Hair Repair Complex mixed with Tweak-d Restore Conditioner
-Stylers: Save Me From Chemical Conflict/Thermal Obsession Hair Reboots, Tweak-d by Nature Restore Conditioning Thickening Foam, Olaplex No 6 Reparative Smoothing Creme, Original Moxie Hold Up/Oasis combo, Olaplex No 7 Bonding Oil

 

I apply Olaplex before working out after dampening my hair. It was left in about two and a half hours. Before getting in the shower, I applied the Tweak-d by Nature Yogi-Berry Cleansing Treatment onto dry hair, on top of the Olaplex. I let it sit about five minutes while washing my face and dry brushing my body. Once in the shower, I rinsed and then applied more of the tweak-d on my lengths. To shampoo, I used the Tweak-d By Nature Restore Shampoo. You definitely don't need to use both products at once, in fact the cleansing treatment can actually be a 5 in 1, but personal preference, I prefer a shampoo for my scalp to really clean my follicles and help with build up.


-Technique: I applied products in small sections, roping them through and then scrunching. I used my Aquis Towel to remove excess moisture and then added in the Olaplex No 7 Bonding Oil. Air dried. Clipped front hairline pieces to stretch them out.


This wash was very similar to the great wash day I had last week. I found a jar of the La Formule Artisan Hair Repair Complex by Start Cosmetics in my stash, so I decided to use that. I used this back in December and did a review here. This is an all natural protein treatment with lots more inside. It does not need heat, only needs to be left on for five minutes and you mix it with your favorite conditioner. I decided to mix it with the Tweak-d by Nature Restore Conditioner.

The other thing I did different was rather than using the Tweak-d by Nature Restore Conditioner as a leave in, since I use the Save Me From Hair Reboots and Olaplex Creme, I used the Tweak-d by Nature Restore Conditioning Thickening Foam as a filler before the Original Moxie gel combos. This foam is supposed to help actually thicken up the hair strands, so I am going to be reaching for it often.

The Original Moxie Hold Up Serum and Oasis Moisture Gel combination is a tried true winning gel combo for me. The Hold Up is a lightweight protein styler with strong hold. The Oasis has no hold, but helps repair damage hair and really gives dry hair added moisture. When combined, I find that they balance out perfectly and my hair has great definition without crunch and lasts for days, even through work outs! Both products are very concentrated, so I don't need to use much at all.

Honestly, my hair was air drying with a lot of potential, but since I REALLY wanted my hair to look good and it was slightly frizzy, I went in with more product. I do usually do this, but I think since I was nervous for good hair, I used a bit too much. My hair didn't come out bad, but it definitely could have been better. I feel like the more I want my hair to look good, the harder I try and worse it comes out.
